Who is Coming?

You can see for yourself on our Participants Page at our Wiki. Below is a general listing of the demographics of PodCampAZ. We are steadily getting new registrants, so come back often to check the list.

  • New Media Innovators. To fall into this category, you’ve got to be a VP or higher or an existing podcast, videocast, blog, or other social/new media business that’s been around over a year. These are people whose firms are specifically focused on new media creation, PR, or services to support new media technologies.
  • Traditional Media Movers. This list includes those who incorporate new media into the traditional media workplace including television, radio, Internet, and everywhere in between.
  • UAT and other university students. Because of our unique location for PodCamp AZ (the University of Advancing Technology) approximately 1000 students who are focused on new technologies in their studies have been invited to attend. Additionally, we are extending the invitation to Arizona universities, colleges and tech schools. Students can fall into any of the above categories - from leaders to learners of new and social media.
  • Educators. Established educators from universities and private institutions are coming to share their experiences with incorporating new media into their educational environments.
  • Established bloggers/podcasters/vloggers. To be in this category, you must have been actively blogging, etc. for over six months with an established audience. This savvy demographic are the “citizen journalists” and self-made entertainers on the Internet who will undoubtedly be blogging/reporting their experiences in real-time at PodCamp AZ.
  • Networking Newbies. Many people are new to new/social media and a number of our present registrants are high up in the corporate/traditional media worlds but are coming to nurture their hobbyist interest in the new media space. The nature of our “unconference” is to embrace all learners/networkers at whatever level of experience. Remember that communicating a message effectively doesn’t require new media tools; newbies to the technology are experts in their own fields as well.
