Speaker Resources
  • Before preparing for your session, it is important that you understand the “spirit of the un-conference.” Please take a moment to read this page for information on the goals of PodCamp and how they should drive your session.

Room Assignments

  • We will be scheduling room assignments as we get closer to November 3rd. Please be aware that assignments are at the discretion of the PodCamp AZ organizers and according to subject tracts, if possible.
  • We are attempting to record and stream (audio/video) several sessions, however, feel free to bring your own recording devices so that your session can be posted or streamed on the PodCamp AZ site.

Audio/Video

  • We are attempting to find a venue whose rooms are fully mediated. However, we recommend that you are ready for anything. If for some reason wireless Internet is malfunctioning (or unavailable) and/or equipment is not available, be prepared to “roll with it.” We are making best attempts to have wi-fi, projectors, etc, but cannot guarantee these benefits.

Recording and Content Rights

  • By speaking at (or even attending PodCamp AZ) you agree and recognize that your session and content will be released under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike-2.5 License. Sessions may be recorded (audio/video). They will be made available for anyone to use according to this license. If you don’t agree to this, then you won’t be able to speak.

Computers, Projectors & Other Equipment

  • We can’t provide laptops or computers. Please bring your own gear and be aware that our insurance will not cover any potential damage to your equipment.
  • We are working on getting as many projectors as we can, but are not sure if every room will have one. Please bring your own if you have access to one.
  • If the rooms are equipped with sound amplification we will work our best to ensure mics are ready for your talk so you can focus on your message.

BRING YOUR OWN ADAPTERS

  • If you’ve spoken more than a few times you know the vital importance of adapters for your computers, especially if you’re a Mac user. We cannot recommend strongly enough that you bring your own assortment of adapters you can plug in and be set to present quickly.

Other Recording/Distribution Tools

  • In addition to recording the sessions, we’re hoping to use other free tools to record and distribute session leaders presentations before, during and after the event. This includes allowing you to invite a virtual audience to hear/attend your session. These are not guarantees but possibilities we’re working on to provide great value for people graciously giving of their time to travel to the event and speak.

There are ways to record your session that are free and you can use the day of Podcamp. Here are some below you should check out and test before you arrive:

  • TalkShoe allows you to record your session (audio only) by talking on your cellphone to a live, virtual audience. Think about getting Blue Tooth enabled and have friends join you who can text/ask questions via phone (along with your live audience).
  • PalTalk allows you to record video content/chats via webcam. Great way to record your content and either feature it live or videocast it later on. (May be monthly charges for service)
  • Blog Talk Radio is a “social radio network that allows anyone with a phone or internet connection to host their own live on-line call in talk show.”
  • Ustream is a “platform that provides live interactive video for everyone. Anyone with a camera and an Internet connection can use Ustream to broadcast to a global audience.”

Session Promos

  • Although by no means mandatory, we encourage you to create an audio/video promo for your session to let people know more specifically what you’ll be talking about. If you do create a promo, please notify our PodCamp AZ organzers so that your promo is seen in the main sessions.
