We’ve also added some notes as to why we chose some of the items.

See you this weekend!

The Accidental Creative
Todd Henry’s first book explains how to replenish creative energy whether you work for a large company, small business or yourself.

The Art Of Non-Conformity – Chris Guillebeau
Living a different life certainly isn’t a science. Here’s a list of how to do it.

Born To Run – Christopher McDougall
The minimalist/barefoot running dork leading the PodcampAZ committee really liked this book, which isn’t about running as much as it’s about understanding culture.

Built To Last – Jim Collins, Jerry I. Porras
Classic and necessary reading for anyone who likes to create companies that will outlast them.

Camtasia Mac, Camtasia PC, SnagIt, TechSmith shirts in a variety of sizes (5)
Credit Kathy Jacobs here. She loves all of these and they’ve contributed the past few years. Great software.

Computer Technology Conference Pass
Held March 22-25 2012, the CompTechConf exists to teach anyone from noob to expert how to better use technology. They offer seminars, vendors and great networking opportunities.

Disneyland passes
Chandler City Councilman and Floridino’s/Dilly’s Deli co-owner Jeff Weninger had a few extra. They are worth $80 each and expire 12/31/2011. If you win them, please make sure someone uses them!

Do More Great Work – Michael Bungay Stanier
Michael, who edited the Domino Project’s End Malaria, published this as a way to help other creatives do what it is they set out to get done.

Escape From Cubicle Nation – Pam Slim
We’re fairly sure Pam Slim’s 2008 PodcampAZ presentation is what spurred Chad Swaney to reach for more and better employment doing what he actually loves and she’s helped a lot of other people since then. This is a blueprint on how to get the job you’ve always wanted without completely sacrificing what you’ve already worked hard for.

A First-Rate Madness – Nassir Ghaemi
Recommended by Mark Dudlik of too many things to list here, this is about the link between leadership and mental illness. Not sure if it means that you have to be crazy to lead or leadership makes people crazy, but we bet some of you would really like to find out.

FoolishUniversity.com – One free month (2), three free months
Not sure how literally we should take Tim Conley’s company, but three lucky people are going to be able to say they attended a university that, well, there’s not much humor there. (ed. note – Tyler says he’s sorry)

Getting Things Done – David Allen
Another classic that should be taught in schools.

Go The F*ck To Sleep – Adam Mansbach, Ricardo Cortés
We thought this one was funny.

Graduate To LinkedIn & Building Strategic Relationships Through Networking – Melissa Giovagnoli
Expert networker Melissa Giovagnoli gave two of her books, both designed to help people attain better employment by working with others. We’re giving these out as a pair, because online and offline networking work best together.

Grammar Girl’s 101 Misused Words You’ll Never Confuse Again – Mignon Fogarty
With the easiest to understand grammar podcast out there, Mignon Fogarty is the nicest grammar teacher you wish you’d had.

The Happiness Project – Gretchen Rubin
Follow Gretchen along a happy, happy journey. Or something like that. Either way, the bookstore lady said it was inspirational and that it was by an independent publisher. Support the little guys!

How to Fail – The Self-Hurt Guide
Completely not inspirational, total opposite of most of the books on this list, and written by Aaron Goldfarb, who has been an author for a whopping 366 (on 11/8) days. And the guide we all need to make sure we don’t take ourselves too seriously.

How To Speak Wookiee – Wu Kee Smith, JAKe
If you don’t understand why a book that makes Wookiee sounds is awesome, well, huh.

The I Love** Trader Joe’s Around The World Cookbook – Cherie Mercer Twohy
Fun with food!

InfusionSoft (Joe Manna) 1:1 email marketing consult, Otter Box Case (2)
Not sure where InfusionSoft’s Joe Manna found Otter Box Cases (iPhone 4 and EVO 4G), but we’ll take them. Joe will also sit down and help a lucky winner solve all their email marketing problems. Forever. Or your money back.

Linchpin – Seth Godin
Blame Tyler. He’s a big Seth Godin fan (not that anyone isn’t).

Listen First, Sell Later – Bob Poole
Author and Domino Project Street Team Member Bob Poole sent over an autographed copy of his latest 145-page project packed with “practical, useful and important insights that will change your day, your week and your life” (per Seth Godin). Highly recommended reading.

Mug + $25 gift certificate
People need cups that can hold hot things and they need money to buy Christmas books. This does both and it looks like a gift basket. From Changing Hands Bookstore

The NOW Revolution – Jay Baer, Amber Naslund
Perfect for businesses and businesspeople still struggling with the changes technology has brought about to their industry. Also, Jay Baer is a local legend.

Pagely tshirts plus three months free service (5)
Josh and Sally Strebel are giving us tshirts packaged with free managed WordPress hosting service. They also host this site.

Podcasting For Dummies – Tee Morris, Chuck Tomasi, Evo Terra
Apparently this Evo Terra guy knows a thing or two about podcasting. If you don’t believe us, check out this book or one of his presentations this weekend.

Read This Before Our Next Meeting
Al Pittampalli’s short guide to running better meetings is aimed squarely at Fortune 1000 companies, but we bet you’ll be able to learn something that saves you time and make better decisions.

ROI of Social Media – Guy R. Powell, Steven W. Groves, Jerry Dimos
Social media can make people money? No way! Former Arizona resident Steven Groves helped create this tome.

SEO Audit – one-hour, in-person (2)
Joshua Ziering of Full Speed Marketing, who will be on our WordPress panel on Saturday, gave two free sessions from his firm. We hear SEO is going to be BIG, and now that Josh has pledged to blog more instead of post to Facebook all day, maybe we’ll hear more about that.

Start With Why – Simon Sinek
Great speaker, great storyteller and a fantastic idea guy who can tell why you what makes a great marketing campaign. Fantastic on the Behance Network and TEDx.

Steve Jobs – Walter Isaacson
This is a big book and by all accounts, it’s really, really good.

Torch Theatre passes for two (5)
Arizona’s only dedicated stage for long-form improv gave us ten tickets to give to you. Nina Miller & JUDD Improv will be presenting Saturday morning. We may give away pairs or even quads of tickets. WHO KNOWS?

YOU are NOT so SMART – David McRaney
The blog is hilarious and the book is pretty new. You’ll enjoy it.

It’s Not Podcamp Without A Podcast

Speakers

Cj Feierabend

podcast

podcastaz

podcasting

Scott Josephson
<guid
