It’s not cheap to put on free conference of this scale. Your support was crucial to the success of the event. Well done.

Thanks to everyone in the Phoenix community who helped spread the word about this. I had numerous out-of-towners comment on what a fantastic community we have, and how their town simply wouldn’t be able to pull this together. While that last part is probably bullshit, you should know that others are envious of what we have done and continue to do. I take it as my personal mission to remind you of that as necessary.

Enjoy the afterglow. You’ve all earned it.

Sessions

Crowdsourcing? Crowdfunding? Co-Creation?
What do these terms mean? And more importantly, how can these strategies be used to not only create exciting products your customers crave, but also a legion of dedicated tribe members and WOM marketers?

Companies like Threadless, Innocentive, Crowdspring, Local Motors and Cameesa have utilized different Co-Creation methodologies to:

· Bring products to market customers actually want.
· Solve problems faster, with less capital.
· Build brand loyalty and WOM marketers.
· Measure demand in real time.

Co-creation strategies allow customers and community members to join the development process resulting in increased customer satisfaction and brand loyalty.

In this session we will explore these strategies and their many applications.

Motorcycle Vlogging
Capturing the two wheeled traveling experience and trying to share it with the world. I love to travel solo by motorcycle. There’s something about this mode of transport that makes the journey incredibly visceral and exciting. Capturing this unique experience may be losing battle, but I try the best I can. Here are some of the topics I will be covering: Vlogging through a motorcycle helmet, Google Maps and YouTube video mashup, travel logs through Google Earth with video and photo layovers, geo-tagging, equipment and techniques.

Vowing to never again own a small business after operating a family owned maintenance business for 21 years, he leapt into the corporate world of wireless communications as a member of the executive team. Shortly after relocation to Arizona, he found himself on the receiving end of change, propelling him back into the world of self-employment, starting a consulting practice while looking for another career. Almost eight years later he still is the owner and operator of a small consulting practice called Provision Team Inc., where he offers marketing strategy, mentorship and operational support programs to clients.

Being a marketing guy, he uses many of the elements of social media to educate, inform and promote his ideology of “Business Done Right” and “Market Naturally”.

LinkedIn is NOT just for Landing Jobs Anymore
LinkedIn.com is the site used by many to create a business profile (online resume) of their education and career accomplishments. When used correctly it becomes so much more. Landing a job is one use of the site. Landing projects is another, especially when you consider a project is nothing more than a short-term job. Being relevant to a vast audience of professionals is a third way to utilize LinkedIn to promote you.

In this session we will discuss the Do’s and Don’ts, the In’s and Out’s, the Good, Better and Best ways to build YOUR brand on the web. We’ll also share a few tips to help you monetize your efforts and maximize your time investment in this incredible FREE tool.

Took Arkayne, Inc from concept to implementation by summer of 2008. Joined with current CEO, Nicholas Aretakis, and pitched to Arizona Technology Investment Forum by early 2009. We assembled basic startup team and raised a 2 year runway by summer 2009. By fall of 2009 were engaging first customers and moving up PR and marketing efforts.

As CTO, I am responsible for managing the development team. I also coordinate all cloud computing resources and provide guidance on emerging technology in our space. Like any startup, Arkayne, Inc. requires that I wear many hats, I contribute wherever I’m needed.

Its been an exciting project thus far, we are fortunate to have a great Phoenix, AZ based team and very smart angel investors. I’ll try to update our blog on a regular basis to keep everyone up to date.

Sessions

Cloud Computing Changing Social Space
The ability of people to spread their content is not even close to their ability to generate it yet. Even today Twitter, FaceBook, Youtube, and RSS feeds barely keep up with the millions of people writing, photographing, and recording new content by the second. Whats the next revolution that will enhance online content distribution? I’m betting everything that I’ve guessed right.

As a blogger myself I’ve spent more than my fair share of time trying to get my ideas in front of an interested audience. Which got me thinking about the ideal way to disseminate content across the web. What if I could not only get my audience interested in my blog but pull in my audience’s audience as well?

The above wasn’t really scalable or possible until recently, with the advent of cloud computing that’s quickly changing. Problems that were too big or too intensive to solve in the past are now becoming trivial tasks, this is changing the way we can access, recommend, and distribute online content in ways never considered feasible just three years ago.

This presentation is about how cloud computing will change the organic nature of the web and how we interact with content and people online.

Ghost-tweeting? Says who?
Social media Tweeting and Facebooking (now verbs, yes) has jumped forward from being a strictly personal web tool to a massive marketing initiative from brands, celebs and companies alike.

Hello party [soon to be PodCamp] people. Our third promotion blog blast for PodCamp AZ 2009 will happen on Thursday, October 29th everyday from now through when the doors open on November 14th. The theme… Just blog it already! Beyond the event basics and website, we don’t care what you feature. Are you speaking? Drop a few teasers. Do you have a list of top 5 reasons someone should attend? Count them out. Do you what she did last PodCamp? Spill it.

Still need ideas? Here’s some of the things we are finalizing right now.

PodCast AZ – Every year we have live podcasting throughout the entire session. Contact Dani Cutler and Dan and CJ Feierabend at onair@podcampaz.com to get on the airwaves.

Speakers – We have an awesome speaker lineup already, and are still taking submissions, but only through Saturday. The schedule gets published Monday!

Volunteers – We need a small army of people to help on event days. We might even have some cool swag for you, like a t-shirt and other unidentified stuff. If you want to march in our army, contact Crystal O’Hara at volunteer@podcampaz.com.

Tees – We have 600 t-shirts to give to registered attendees, and over 500 people are already registered. If you want in on the goodness, get registered.

As always, an extensive list of information and resources are available on our Blog Blast Central Page. Pick your favorite thing about PodCamp AZ and just blog it already.

See you in the flesh on November 14th, and online many many times before that!

As with every other year here at Podcamp AZ, our BIGGEST sponsor is YOU! We are always looking for new sponsors to help make the event even more awesome but this year, with the great response we have received from our attendees, we have devoted the money that has come in from individuals to buying a 2009 PodCamp AZ tshirt for EVERYONE who registers and attends. This means that if we have your current and correct information in our new app and you show up, we’ll have a shirt waiting for you for free! So as a HUGE thank you for all of you who make this thing amazing, it’s the least we can do in return. Thank you once again for being the most important part of Podcamp AZ. YOU ROCK!

Tonight we launched our new (still kind of in beta) registration management application. We have been feverishly banging away at the code behind our registration tool for this years PodCamp AZ (less than 2 weeks away… holy cow!). Now we need your help on four fronts.

Registration information: We have imported the information you sent us over the last year and loaded it into our new system so you can look at what we have and make sure what we have is correct. This is important because we use this information in printing badges for you, buying t-shirts for you and getting everything ready… FOR YOU! Please take a moment and login to double check our record keeping skills and right any wrongs.

Session voting: This one is critical. We need to get an idea of how to place the sessions in the rooms we have provided. We have come up with a voting system that allows you to vote for up to 10 sessions you think are worth attending. Don’t worry, we won’t hold you to your votes and you can change them at any time. We just want to know where the interest is and who MIGHT attend. So please spend all of your votes and spend them wisely. We greatly appreciate the little extra effort.

Beta Testing: As this is a very new application, we know there are most likely bugs and tweaks that we need to make. We need your help hashing out all the bugs. We have Uservoice installed on the site, so if you would be so kind and help us report issues you see, we would be eternally grateful!

Spread the word: If you haven’t already noticed, this is something we should have launched several weeks ago and we know that but please give us some grace as this free unconference has a lot of moving parts and this one was one of the last to come into place. If you could help us spread the word by forwarding, tweeting, telling and whatever else you can do to help us get the word out in the short time we have until the event. Again… We are eternally grateful!

Thank you in advance! We can’t wait to see you in 2 weeks!
