Devon Christopher Adams

Nooccar known more corporeally as Devon Christopher Adams warps the minds of our high school AP English students in Chandler, AZ for 10 years now, and teaches Freshman Composition online in his pajamas for Mesa Community College where he’s been playing with different course management systems just to confuse the students. In his spare time he tweets obsessively, checks in on Brightkite everywhere he goes, shoots way too many pictures, and tries to get his four year old to give back his iPod Touch.

He’s been invited to speak national through a National Science Foundation grant program on how he tries to brainwash high school students into thinking Google Apps rocks, he’s tried to teach 80 year olds how to tweet, and he has presented on how smart kids become sociopaths and go to jail. His research is in Clearing House, The Alan Review, and on his mother’s refrigerator.

Talking Tech: Bridging the communication gap between parent and teacher in the 21st century high school classroom
Let’s talk about community building in high schools between teachers and parents. As parents we’re frustrated by the lack of technology used by luddite teachers while as teachers we try to reach out to parents through technologies their kids use everyday. The goal: to share strategies, including Google Forms, Groups & embedded Calendars, that work in connecting teachers and parents to better serve today’s 21st century students in the classroom.
